Have a question in mind?
Lets us answer some of the most common questions.
What is a VPS? Why do I need one? Is Shared Hosting not enough?

A VPS (Virtual Private Server), is your own server created using Virtualisation. You have a software equivelent of physical machine to yourself. People tend to use VPS for specific applications or for a site that uses up too much resources and is no longer suitable for shared hosting. This could be for numerious reasons, for example you're using more CPU resources than allocated continuously, too much RAM or your site is hogging all the avaliable bandwidth on the shared server, all of which show how great your website is working for you. On a VPS you're seperate from the main server and all the resources are yours and only yours, if you cap out the CPU your site won't be suspended or disabled, if you need more upgrade your server! The limits are only what you set them.

What do I get and why are they important?

A VPS gives you RAM/CPU/HDD and IP's, RAM is the avaliable memory to run your applications, such as apache (what runs most websites), dovecot (email), mysql (databases), if you're site is always being accessed this is key. CPU is important for processing the different services on your server, if you're using a lot of RAM for mysql then you'll need more CPU to run these services. HHD is the storage space for your site, if you have a lot of traffic but you're site is small then you don't need much HHD, but lots of CPU/RAM. Finally IP's are the number of physical address for your servers, most people only need one, but if you want more, just ask!

What Operating Systems can i have? Do you do Windows hosting?

We offer all the core linux flavours, debian, ubuntu, centos, coreos, we keep these up-to-date and if requested we can install others. We don't do windows hosting at this time but keep a keen eye out, we'll be addresses this asap!

I don't understand all of this but i need one, can you help me?

Of course we can, we're highly skilled technical people and we know that a lot of this is confusing and timeconsuming for none technical people. We'll look after the server for you for £30 a month, which is less than a coffee a day! We'll keep it up-to-date, deal with technical errors and work through any technical problems you ask, we'll keep the server running and leave the website up to you. All we ask is that you keep your website secure and up-to-date, and we'll do the rest.
